A lorry driver delivering cigarettes to a newsagent in Bewdley today was threatened by up to three people who made off with a haul.
The robbery happened outside Martins in Load Street at about 7.30am.
Police said a dark coloured car pulled up alongside the lorry which was making a delivery. The driver was threatened, although no weapons were seen.
The robbers unloaded a quantity of cigarettes from the vehicle and put them into their own car, believed to be a black Skoda Octavia, which sped off towards Kidderminster. The same car was believed to have been driving erratically by the traffic lights on Bewdley Hill, Kidderminster.
Two of the robbers are described as being in their mid 20s, wearing black tracksuits and having West Midlands accents. One was black and the other is believed to be white, although he was wearing a balaclava. |
