Two taxi firms in Hanoi will be the first to operate “taxi routes without tobacco smoke” from the middle of this month, according to Canadian NGO, Health Bridge.
Drivers and passengers will be banned from smoking in Ha Noi and Me Linh taxis. Drivers will be trained how to refuse when they are invited to smoke and to persuade passengers not to smoke.
After more than a year of a two-year project to implement nonsmoking policies in offices and public places in Hanoi, several hospitals in the capital city have banned smoking, according to the NGO. |
