Reynolds American Inc. said Wednesday that it plans to take a fourth-quarter charge of about $47 million for severance and related costs for about 400 workers who will be leaving the company by 2011. The tobacco company said the affected employees are production associates who had asked that their jobs be considered for elimination. |
